THE National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) has adjusted dates for the 2026 National Competitiveness Summit to 16-17 September following the proclamation of 15 September as Munhumutapa Day public holiday.
The official opening day has been set for 17 September.
In a statement released today, the NCC said the venue – the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) in Bulawayo – remains unchanged.
“The National Competitiveness Commission welcomes the proclamation of Statutory Instrument 148 of 2026, declaring 15 September of every year as a public holiday to be known as Munhumutapa Day,” reads part of the statement.
“The Commission hereby advises all ministries, departments and agencies, speakers, panelists, moderators, delegates, exhibitors, development partners, sponsors, the media fraternity and stakeholders that the dates for the 2026 Competitiveness Summit have been adjusted, while the venue remains unchanged.”
The summit brings together Government, business, academia, development partners and research institutions to deliberate on strategies to enhance Zimbabwe’s competitiveness and improve the ease of doing business.
“The National Competitiveness Commission remains committed to providing a platform for constructive dialogue on strategies to enhance Zimbabwe’s competitiveness and improve the ease of doing business,” the NCC said.
All registered participants and stakeholders have been urged to take note of the changes and make the necessary arrangements.
The National Competitiveness Summit was launched by Government in 2023 as part of efforts to position Zimbabwe among the top 50 most competitive economies globally by 2030.
