THE 2026 National Disability Expo entered its second day today, with exhibitors continuing to showcase products, services and innovations aimed at promoting disability inclusion and empowerment.

Activities at the expo were further enlivened by a colourful roadshow led by people living with disabilities at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo, drawing significant public interest and highlighting the talents, capabilities and contributions of persons with disabilities.

More than 500 exhibitors, alongside various Government ministries, departments and agencies, have been participating in the event at Mucheke Stadium’s B Arena since the expo opened on Wednesday.

The expo will reach a crescendo on Friday when President Mnangagwa is expected to headline the official opening of the event on a day the curtain will also come down on the expo.

Exhibitions by people living with disabilities showcased products in such fields as information communication technology(ICT), agriculture and value-addition of agricultural products, apiculture, shoemaking and sewing and tailoring, among others.

A road show by persons with disabilities saw them entertaining visitors to the exhibition stands with music and dance, bringing the old suburb of Mucheke in Masvingo alive.

Special Advisor to the President on Disability Issues in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Ms Rossy Mpofu, handed over prizes to some of the winners who excelled during the roadshow.

Speaking on the sidelines of the expo, Ms Mpofu commended President Mnangagwa and the Second Republic for advancing the interests of people living with disabilities.

Ms Mpofu hailed President Mnangagwa for walking the talk on his mantra of leaving no one and no place behind by extending empowerment opportunities to persons with disabilities.

She lauded the rollout of village business units at institutions such as Jairos Jiri Training Centre in Masvingo City for helping empower people with disabilities.

Over 500 exhibitors are showcasing products at this year’s expo.
