National Foods donates to SOS Village

National Foods yesterday donated over 1 000 kilogrammes of its new Pearlenta high fibre mealie meal to the SOS Children’s Village in Waterfalls. The donation is expected to enrich the nutrition of over 100 children living at the orphanage by offering them a quality meal with added fibre through the new product launched by the company recently.

In an interview, National Foods group marketing executive,: We have come to SOS Children’s Village to give a donation to its three villages in Harare, Bulawayo and Bindura and we donated over 1 000kg of maize meal with high fibre to the kids because we know that it is good, it gives them more fibre and improves their digestive systems.” Mrs Mpala assured that National Foods would continue to supply them with mealie meal. Mrs Angela Mpala said

“This is not a once off donation, we have an on-going relationship with them so we will do it again later,” she said. National director for SOS Children’s Village, Mrs Knowledge Chikondo thanked the company for its donation.

“We are very excited and honoured to receive such a donation from National Foods during times like these. It is going to go a long way to feed the children that we have in our camp.

“We will spend less on food and use the money we are saving to meet the children’s other needs like sports, clothing and education,  Ashton, a Grade Three pupil living at the village also commended National Foods for its donation. I want to thank National Foods for giving us mealie meal so that we will never go to bed hungry. The sadza is tasty and different. I am looking forward to enjoying it everyday.” she said
