National heroes’ bodies lying in state at Charles Gumbo Barracks

The bodies of the two national heroes, Brigadier-General (Retired) Victor Rungani and Cde Walter Basopo, are now lying in state at the Charles Gumbo Barracks ahead of burial at the National Heroes Acre tomorrow.

The director of human resources in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Mr Maxwell Muguse, confirmed that all preparations for the burial are now in place.

He also announced that buses will be available to ferry mourners from their usual pickup points to the burial site.
