THE annual Carling Black Label National Pool Finals are set for tomorrow at Zimbali Events and Lifestyle Centre in the capital.
The event will mark the end of an eventful two months of competitive fixtures in the qualifiers held in 24 centres nationwide.
Kundayi Mawema the Delta Beverages Marketing Manager, Lager Beer, said there was an increase in the number of participants throughout the country.
“The Carling Black Label National Pool Championship promises to be an electrifying event filled with incredible displays of sportsmanship – 64 ladies and 64 men will compete.
“The road to the national finals kicked off on June 1 which culminated in the finals that will see both men and women winners walking away with improved prize money.
“Winners will receive US$2 500 and a pool table with the first and second runners-up receiving US$1 500 and US$1 000 respectively, while the fourth-place finisher will receive US$500.”
The CBL national Pool finals have been running for over 10 years in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Pool Association (ZPA).
This year, the players registered via WhatsApp or USSD before the regional tournaments which started on June 1, 2024.
The 2024 edition started with a referees training seminar which saw more than 50 referees attending.
This basic induction seminar addressed the new and dynamic ways of delivering instructions.
