BULAWAYO this month host the fourth edition of the National Sports Convention four years after the city hosted the event in June 2012.
The event, which will be hosted by Bulawayo Polytechnic Tourism and Hospitality Hall, is set to be bigger and better with a large number of delegates from across Zimbabwe and abroad.
The NSC is an annual unique opportunity for key decision-makers from sport and the corporate sector to meet, network, and strategically shape national, regional and global sporting agendas.

This year’s theme is Social, Educational and Commercial impact of sport. The event which will run for three days starting on 20 May, will have different discussion topics on issues affecting sports.

Over 300 delegates from Zimbabwe and beyond will coincide with the fifth anniversary of the SCORE Zimbabwe (ZSCORE) Events and Sports Marketing Consulting. ZSCORE are the initiators and have been organising the event since its launch in June 2012.

ZSCORE chief executive officer of Peter Mawere said this year’s edition would focus on the management of sport.
“The fourth edition of the NSC is oriented to equip the delegates with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes that are essential for effective and efficient management of sports events and institutions through adapting to the environmental contexts in which they operate,” said Mawere.

Mawere also urged the executives to come together as one so as to come out with solid and useful ideas through learning from one another.
Among the delegates will be Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kenny Ndebele, president of the Score Sport Consultancy Group in Egypt Zohair Ammah, John Bales who is the president of the International Council of Coaching Excellence and Uegenia Chidakwa the Director of Sport in the Ministry of Sports and Recreation Zimbabwe.
