RENOVATIONS at the National Sports Stadium will be completed and ready for use in the next six to eight weeks, an official has said.

This came out during the Portfolio Committee on Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture’s field visit to the National Sports Stadium this morning.

The portfolio’s chairperson Farai Jere thanked the Government and the Ministry of Sports for the work being done.

In their interaction with the Engineer onsite, Jere sought clarification on why the pitch was not yet in place, and it was revealed that after drainage works, several tests had to be conducted.

The turf will now be placed on top and will need six months to settle, the engineer revealed.
