THE National Building Society Limited (NBS) has warned prospective home buyers they could be duped into buying properties which are owned by the company by fake sellers.
NBS revealed that Hibernic Energy was not authorised to sell houses in its Dzivaresekwa Housing Project.
NBS stressed it would not take responsibility for any losses incurred by parties who transact with the fake sellers.
Customers have been advised to exercise caution when approaching any NBS branch or office to avoid being deceived.
NBS is currently working with the Government to ensure everyone has access to affordable housing.
“It has come to NBS’ attention that a company called Hibernic Energy (Private) Limited is purporting to be selling housing units at the NBS Dzivaresekwa Housing Project on the Society’s behalf and in partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe,” NBS said.
“Regrettably, this is not the correct position as Hibernic Energy is not authorised to sell houses at the said housing project. Therefore, NBS dissociates itself from Hibernic Energy’s claims of being officially appointed by the Society, in whatever capacity, to sell housing units on its behalf at the project.
“We urge prospective clients and members of the public to exercise caution in this regard and to approach any NBS branch or office if they have any enquiry about the project or if they intend to make a purchase from the same or from any of our other housing projects.”
