The National Dance Association of Zimbabwe (Ndaz) has launched a new initiative aimed at promoting dance education and development among pre-school children.
The Ndaz Pre-Schools Dance Festival is a platform designed to nurture and showcase the creative talents of young dancers aged between three and six years, in both traditional and modern dance styles.
Festival director, Farai Meki, has called on all interested pre-schools in Zimbabwe to participate at the festival.
“We invite all pre-schools, dance practitioners and parents to join us in this exciting initiative. The Ndaz Pre-Schools Dance Festival promises to be a fun-filled and creative experience for all participants. Let’s work together to nurture the next generation of dancers and instill a love for dance in our young children,” said Meki.
Having recently launched the programme through a workshop at Hermann Gmeiner High School in Bindura, Meki announced that chapter competitions will kick off next month. The national finals will be held in Harare.
Ndaz is an organisation dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional Zimbabwean dance as well as modern dance, operating across all 10 provinces with a focus on representing the dance industry. — @mthabisi_mthire
