NDIRAYA CAN ONLY HOPE. . . gaffer worried break could affect team’s rhythm

Blessing Malinganiza

DYNAMOS coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, is hoping the one-week break didn’t affect his boys’ form.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League resumes this weekend with DeMbare travelling to Vengere for a tie against Tenax on Sunday.

“It’s an important break but we hope the break has not broken the rhythm we had picked up as a team,” said Ndiraya.

“Like I’ve been saying, in previous interviews, we were in a difficult phase and we were slowly getting out of it and then came the break.

“So, we don’t know how it’s going to turn out, but we are preparing very well.

“Breaks are difficult in the sense that you may lose form, rhythm and everything that you may have built.”

He added:

“So, yes, we wait to see how it’s going to turn out on Sunday when we face Tenax but, so far, the training has been good.

“The break has also, on a positive note, given us time to work on a few things that we needed to work on and, hopefully, we can continue to do what we were doing before the break.”

He believes the break also gave his injured players time to recover.

“The good thing about it is that we are all going to start on the same level.

“But, we are good, we have one more session to go before the game on Sunday and so far it’s been good.

“We’ve been picking up injuries along the way, but, of course, we also have some who are coming back.

“King Nadolo, Ralph Kawondera, Shadreck Nyahwa and Tanaka Chidhobha are back.”

Dynamos have generally struggled

at Vengere.

“Generally every match is difficult for us,” he said.

“We are second on the log fighting from the other end of the table.

“Tenax are second from bottom, so that really puts pressure on the team, in general, because naturally, people expect us to get a good result.

“Naturally, all teams want to give it their all against us, so that means we have to be prepared psychologically to overcome all obstacles.”

He said Vengere was a difficult venue and many coaches have complained about the surface,

“We’ve tried to train in those conditions, hopefully, we can adjust quickly and get a result.”

The last time the Glamour Boys were at Vengere, they fell to a shock 0-1 defeat at the hands of newboys, Cranborne Bullets.
