SIMBA Bhora boss, Tonderai Ndiraya, is continuing his trend of giving young forwards a chance.
During his stay at Ngezi Platinum, he was key in giving Terence Dzvukamanja the platform to shine leading to his move to South Africa.
Last season, he invested his faith in Bill Antonio who moved to Belgium.
At Simba Bhora, he has thrust his faith in Alexander Mandinyenya, who is slowly becoming the go-to guy for the miners.
The 18-year-old is getting the nod at the cost of the club’s fan favourite, Tinashe “Maswera” Balakasi.
Mandinyenya has backed Ndiraya’s gamble by finding the net two times.
He is the club joint leading goal scorer with veteran midfielder, Ronald “Rooney” Chitiyo.
Mandinyenya could make an early foreign breakthrough should Ndiraya’s charm continue.
Ndiraya has hailed Mandinyenya’s impact.Mandinyenya joined Simba Bhora on loan from the relegated Harare City.
“I’m excited with Mandinyenya’s performance and he is one of our experienced players,” said Ndiraya.
“He scored a brace against Highlanders in Harare City’s last game last season.
“That is one of the reasons we roped him in from loan and we wanted that experience in our squad.
“I’m not even surprised with what he is doing for the club because he has the experience of playing at the highest level.”
He added.
“If a boy of his age can score a brace against Highlanders, it says a lot about his potential.
“Even if you look at the goal he scored last week against Hwange, it relieved us because we were struggling to make a breakthrough.”
Simba Bhora are playing Sheasham at Mandava this Sunday.
They will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to four games.
Simba Chinani has kept three clean sheets in their past three fixtures.
