Bulawayo’s fast rising socialite Patience Phiri has used her near naked pictures on social media to spread awareness about breast cancer.
Proud of her body and looks, the vivacious, gorgeous and heavily built mother of one is one person whose presence, on any platform or event, is hard to ignore.
She grabbed the opportunity and used her near nude pictures to spread awareness about breast cancer.
Since the whole month of October is dedicated to breast cancer awareness, Patience decided to use her pictures which left little to imagination to spread the awareness.
She explained the reason behind all this.
“The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. I have partially covered my breast with a pink balloon so as to express moral support for women with breast cancer. In this worthy cause I’m targeting teens and youths because they spend much of the time on social media. I know adults will also view it,” she said.
She added that she hooked up with a youthful broadcast journalist Nompilo Mathuthu so as to reach out to teens and youths.
“Nompilo has a big following of youths on her social media platforms so I know youths would stumble upon these near nude pictures then the breast cancer awareness message would be spread,” said Patience.
She said most teenagers and youths were not aware that they could be affected by cancer.
“During my advocacy work I discovered that most of the teenagers and youths are not aware that they can be affected by cancer as they assume it is a disease that affects old people. Even male youths assume that breast cancer only affect women not knowing that men are also affected,” she explained.
She added: “I know the near nude pictures will aid in achieving the objective of spreading breast cancer awareness as it will catch the attention of many viewers on social media platforms.”
