WARRIORS coach Michael Nees has described Zimbabwe’s group for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as balanced and competitive.
In a draw conducted in Rabat in the host country, Morocco on Monday, the Warriors were thrust into a group that has South Africa, Angola and Egypt.
“We’re in a group with three teams from COSAFA. There’s no secret here these teams know each other very well. We’re facing a derby against our rivals, Bafana Bafana, and a match against a skillful Angola side with a different playing style. Then there’s Egypt, the record AFCON champions and one of the tournament favourites, who will surely bring their best team to Morocco,” said Nees.
The tournament will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
