Neighbours at loggerheads over affair

Weekender Reporter
A MUTARE woman approached the Civil Court accusing her neighbour of having an affair with her husband. A bitter Marian Mudzengerere told the court that her neighbour, Agnes Tadzingwa was jealous of the love life she used to have with her husband. Tadzingwa denied ever being in a relationship with Mudzengerere’s husband.Tadzingwa said: “We were in cordial relationship when we were neighbours. After I left to stay in another area she came across my number in her husband’s phone. She followed me to my new place and labelled me a lady of loose morals who was trying to lure her husband. As I wanted to maintain peace with her I locked my doors and remained indoors until she left. She now has a tendency of coming at midnight and shouting at me.”

Mudzengerere dismissed the allegations and told the court that she was aware of the affair and she had proof from Econet of all voice calls and messages they used to send each other.

“These two were in an affair and my husband has since apologised over the affair in the presence of his relatives. My husband is old enough and I don’t think he made the advances to her, but I suspect Tadzingwa lured him,” said Mudzengerere.

She added: “It was by coincidence that I got hold of my husband’s phone and saw the frequently calls she makes to my husband even at midnight. I trusted her my neighbour, but what I saw drove me to visit her by midnight. She deserves to be called any name associated with what she did and I don’t regret my words.”

Tadzingwa insisted that she was not in any relationship with Mudzengerere’s husband.

“I don’t know her husband’s voice. I am willing to go to Econet so that we can retrieve the recordings together. She was supposed to go with me there if she is telling the truth.”

Mrs Yeukai Chigodora granted the order and ordered both parties to maintain peace with each other.
