A fight between neighbours over stray dogs has spilled into court.

Fungai Chizema is accusing Blessing Gavaza of insulting and stalking him over his dogs.

Fungai yesterday applied for a protection order against Blessing at the Harare Civil Court.

“The problem started when my dogs went out of their kennel and went into his yard. l then went and apologised to him when l heard him complaining and thought it was over.

“He then spent the whole night shining a bright light on my bedroom window. In the morning he followed me to my workplace and started insulting before assaulting me.

“I told him to approach the police to help us solve the issue, but he lied that he was going to collect some documents and never showed up.

“He went on to plant his hedge in my yard and removed it after I lodged a police report,” said Fungai.

In response, Blessing did not oppose the application.

The court also heard that their other neighbour acquired a protection order against Blessing too.

Presiding magistrate, Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order to Fungai and ordered Blessing not to assault, insult or stalk his neighbour.
