BAD blood between neighbours saw a Mutare woman dragging her neighbour to the Civil Courts seeking a protection order.
Nancy Magunha appeared before magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Chigodora, who granted the protection order which bars Upenyu Chitoro from visiting her place of residence while disturbing her peace.
The court heard that Chitoro was in the habit of visiting her place of residence disturbing her peace together with her family.
Magunha said: “I have heard had enough of my neighbour’s insults. I no longer want her to visit my place of residence. It all started when my daughter had a relationship with his son. She is now accusing me of coercing my child to fall in love with her son because they are rich.
“At one time she reported the matter to the police and I was arrested. I now need the law to protect me because I am tired of her unacceptable behaviour”.
In response, Chitoro said Magunha was the one who was disturbing her peace as she was in the habit of sending her insulting messages over the phone.
“This woman is wicked Your Worship. My son is having an affair with her daughter and is no longer sleeping at home. He is now cohabiting with her daughter.
“She sends him to steal from me everything while I am away. I am a cross-border trader. She has no respect Your Worship. She comes to my house during my absence doing whatever she wants with my son. I also need the law to protect me from this woman because she is a threat to my life. She has on several times taken my son to the mountains for some rituals and now he no longer wants to see me. He now hates me. She is there to destroy my child,” said Chitoro.
Magunha however, dismissed the allegations saying she never visited Chitoro’s place of residence.
She claimed that there was bad blood between Chitoro and her son because she was ill-treating him.
“She is lying Your Worship, I never go with her son to the mountains to do any rituals. She hates her son to an extent that on Christmas Day last year she spat on his face. She shares the same blankets with her son at his age. What kind of a mother is she?” said Magunha.
Mrs Chigodora granted the protection order which binds the two to keep peace between each other.
