ALL the 10 provinces arrived here safely yesterday afternoon for the Nestle Zimbabwe Naph physical education track and field championships that start at Trojan Mine Stadium this morning.
Bulawayo and Matabeleland North were the last to arrive in Mashonaland Central after undertaking a 12-hour journey having left Bulawayo just after 5AM yesterday.
After arriving the provinces were quickly taken through the vetting exercise at the competition venue, before being taken to their places of residence.
Southern provinces — Masvingo, Midlands, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Bulawayo were in buoyant mood yesterday.
“We’re ready,” said Bulawayo Naph boss Njabulo Bango.
The same sentiments were echoed by his Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South counterparts Charles Ndiweni and Elton Sinyosi who is also the Naph national spokesperson.
Nestle Zimbabwe corporate affairs and communication manager Farai Munetsi and his staff also paid the provinces a courtesy call.
The first track event of the day, the girls’ Under-12, 80-metre hurdles’ semi-finals will be followed by the girls’ Under-13 high jump finals.
Nestle Zimbabwe’s physical education inaugural competition will also be held this morning.
Seven medal events will be held after lunch.
