Netball mid-season open tourney set for Raylton

This was confirmed by Ruth Hove, the association’s chairperson yesterday.

“We have reached the middle of our season and we will take a break from the league games and play our mid-season tournament at Raylton Sports Club on Saturday.

“All interested teams can register to compete in the tournament where we expect all our league teams to take part,” Hove           said.
Affiliation fees have been pegged at $20 per team and the deadline for teams to confirm their participation is end of business tomorrow,” said Sekani

Dube who is the treasurer and the acting secretary-general said.
Hove said the association was appealing to companies to sponsor the tournament.

“There is little activity for the girl child and we are giving her a platform to be active and we need support from the corporate word to uplift her.

“We are looking for sponsors for this tournament so that we can give prizes to winners,” Hove said.

Division One log leaders ZRP Bulawayo, second-placed Westgate, TelOne Sparrows who are third, Lobengula Queens, Unit Fairbridge, Zesa who top Division Two and Zimpost have confirmed.

Dube said they were expecting about 20 teams to take part in the tournament.
