HARARE City’s preparations for Wednesday’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Yadah were thrown off the rail on Tuesday as five of their players tested positive for Covid-19.

Harare City play Yadah at the National Sports Stadium in the only midweek fixture.

Harare City coach, Tarisai Kaseke, had to make some last-minute changes to his final 18 after the misfortune.

“No injuries, but we had to make last minute changes after some players tested positive to Covid-19, but the changes are minor,” Kaseke said.

The latest development comes a few weeks after some Bulawayo City players also suffered the same fate.

Covid-19 cases have been on the rise, since the emergence of a new variant known as Omicron.
