NEW: 9 people hit by trains in March

Online Reporter

THE National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) says citizens should take precautionary measures when trying to cross railway lines, in order to avoid accidents.

In a statement on twitter, NRZ said there had been increased cases of accidents.

“In March, nine people have been hit by trains, resulting in two deaths while the others sustained serious injuries.

“Therefore, people are urged to be careful for their safety as there is a rise of people who die accidental or intentional.

“Avoid using rail tracks as paths especially when putting earphones. Always Stop! Look! Listen! before proceeding at a rail-road level crossing. This would help us to preserve lives and valuable property.”
