SUNGURA musician, Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria will on December 7 entertain attendees to both the Harare Metropolitan World Mental Health Day, and the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victim commemorations.

The commemorations are set to be held at the Harare Gardens.

Zakaria will perform alongside the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Police Band, and several school bands drawn from across Harare.

The commemorations are being coordinated by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Ms Bhekhi Zephaniah, the acting Harare provincial mental health officer in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, confirmed Madzibaba’s participation during the awareness campaign.

“I can confirm that Zakaria will entertain those that are going to attend. The focus of the commemorations is to raise awareness on mental health issues and traffic safety,” Ms Zephaniah said.

Screenings for such mental health challenges, such as depression and alcoholism, among others, will be held during the commemorations.
