AFRO-fusion musicians Aga Nyabinde and Mbeu (born Ashton Nyahora), worked together on the former’s new album “Honai”, rekindling the pair’s connection that dates back to the days when they were both learning at the Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton.

The nine-track album is set to be launched in Harare on April 30.

“Honai” is Nyabinde’s fourth album.

Mbeu and Aga worked together on the title track.

Fronting the 2 Nice Band, Aga also collaborated with his fellow band members.

On “Garai Neni,” he collaborated with his elder brother Albert, who is a saxophone player with the band.

Band members Dorcas Kambarami and Precious Kambarami wrote their own songs, and also did collaborations with Nyabinde.

Gospel singer Denzil Malachani worked with Nyabinde on the song “Samatenga.”

After the album launch, Aga, who is the son of the late musician Bob Nyabinde, will embark on a nationwide tour.

“After the album launch, we are going to take our music to the people. We have shows that are lined up in venues that are scattered across the country,” he said.
