THE Zimbabwe Institute of Foundries (ZIF), in conjunction with the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT), is set to hold a high-profile metal casting engineering summit.
The event will be held between March 17 and 18, at the Harare Institute of Technology campus.
At least 55 metal foundries, including steel plant operators are expected to attend.
In a statement, ZIF chief operations officer, Mr Dosman Mangisi, said the key highlights of the summit include the unveiling of a new iron and steel company, and the unveiling of a new car model, which was designed and produced by a Zimbabwean.
An exhibition in which metal casting companies, engineering firms, banks, insurance companies and other service providers will take part, will also be part of the major highlights.
Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Professor Mthuli Ncube is expected to be the guest of honour.
Minister of Mines and Mining Development Winston Chitando and the Minister of Industry and Commerce Sekai Nzenza are among the main speakers.
Several members of the South African Institute of Foundrymen are also expected to grace the summit, as well as Zimbabweans that are based in the diaspora, who are in the same trade.
