NEW: Allan Chimbetu to perform at Harare Gardens

VETERAN sungura artiste, Allan Chimbetu will headline a musical gig that has been scheduled for the Harare Gardens on October 22.

The show, which will also see on-fire mbira group Duramazwi performing, will be held on the sidelines of the Zimbabwe National Practitioners Association (ZINPA) annual general meeting.

ZINPA is an association that represents the interests of traditional healers, midwives, herbalists, and faith healers.

Apart from Chimbetu and Duramazwi, Mufaro weVatendi, a rising choral group, will also perform.

A Domboshava-based Nyau dance group will also take to the stage.

The gig will be free of charge.

ZINPA president Mr Cuthbert Nyaruvenda, called upon the nation to support the event.

“We are going to have a musical show soon after our annual general meeting. As you can see from the line-up, we tried to accommodate music lovers of different tastes.”

“I urge those that can come and support us to come in droves,” Mr Nyaruvenda said.

More than 400 ZINPA members and ordinary music lovers are expected to attend.
