New Apple watch, a bang

Urban Reloaded with Swagga T & Brie
The past week to date was full of interesting news from fashion to gadgets and we wonder, will teenville ever going to rest?

Of course not, because we are in the 21st century.

For a start the fashion was low because no new items have been recorded. Last week we attended a private sweet 16 party and you could tell Zimbo we got style.

Unfortunately we can’t share much details because we agreed with the organisers as they did not want this to be published now but the sweet 16 party had a theme dubbed – Hollywood fame.

CLS pulled the Kanye look style with the trendy tan-boot and hooded military grey jacket. The cake was 1,3m tall- replica of the birthday girl and surprisingly she received a pink Fiat car with her name on the number plate.

Don’t worry you will soon find out but not today. Enough of the party crack Apple has done it again.

The Apple Watch was released on April 24, which means you’ve got a little over a month to earn the $350 to $17 000 needed to buy one along with the mandatory iPhone.

Too bad for teenagers because it’s a high mountain to climb.

However, if you’ve only got $50 lying around, you can still get in on the action, as long as you also speak Chinese. Lol, yes we so used of the fake models around town.

Opportunistic Chinese stores have already begun selling Apple Watch knockoffs. China’s biggest online retailers, from JD.com to Tmall, plan to sell the authentic Apple Watch once it comes out. Bringing Western products to the lucrative Chinese market helps companies like Apple and makes people like Jack Ma, head of Tmall’s parent company Alibaba, the richest citizens in China.

However, these stores also have no problem selling obvious copycats right along with the genuine articles. If locally you know the drill, some shops already have some but not genuine.

Another good news was knowing that apart from cheap sms there is the WhatsApp calling facility unfolded.

The new invitation-only feature of WhatsApp that adds free phone call capabilities to the app that was previously only capable of messaging, has officially been launched.

The feature can be accessed by users running WhatsApp version 2.11.528 from the Google Play Store, or version 2.11.531 if downloaded directly from the official website of WhatsApp.

With the official launch of WhatsApp Calling, the process of triggering the feature to be activated is to receive a call from another WhatsApp user that already has the feature unlocked, showing no change to the process that was implemented for WhatsApp Calling’s testing. However, if the user being called up does not have the latest version of WhatsApp installed, a notification will be sent to request the user to update the app before the call is made.

Accessing the call feature can be done through the messages with any of the user’s contact, as a call button will appear as one of the options in the action bar for that user beside the attach option and the menu.

Our movie of the week goes to “Cinderella”. Yes the remake and it has debuted with US$70.1 million at the box office in US.

Alas, “Let It Go” may be Walt Disney’s anthem these days, but “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” might be the more accurate theme song for the Disney juggernaut.

Hope to catch you next week and hey stop loitering at Joina City, you might be caught by swag police uncool and they post you.
