VILLAGERS in Arda Transau have called on Government to build more secondary school in the area to ease the prevailing shortage and improve standards.
Learners in the area are enduring long distances to attend the only secondary school.
In an interview, the headmaster of Wellington Primary School, Mr Shadreck Tembo, said the situation is negatively affecting learners.
“We have only one secondary school here in Arda Transau servicing the whole community, and are looking forward to the construction of more schools.
“This is presenting a huge challenge that puts learners at different risks and we appeal to the Government, well-wishers and other stakeholders to come to our aid,” he said.
Mr Tembo said additional secondary schools in the area will speak to Government’s drive to avail accessible and affordable education in all parts of the country.
