THE inaugural Billy Rautenbach two-day tournament, which will be held today (Thursday) and Friday, is the kick-off of a tradition that is expected to be a permanent feature on the sporting events calendar in the lowveld area of Chipinge South constituency.

10 local schools are set to participate in the soccer tournament.

The participating schools include Manzvire, Rimbi, Katanga, Vheneka, Chipangayi, Chinyamukwakwa, Mutandahwe secondary schools, Gutika Academy Private School as well as Checheche and Takwirira high schools.

In a statement, ethanol-producing concern, GreenFuel, which is owned by businessman, Rautenbach, wrote: “The 10 participating schools are only a fraction of those that are part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) space, and thus there is scope to expand the number of schools involved as the tournament progresses.”
