NEW: Budiriro man in court for attempted murder

A 27-year-old Budiriro man has appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court facing an attempted murder charge.

Kundai Chirenje was charged with attempted murder as defined in Section 189 of the Criminal Law and Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23).

Magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Dzuda, remanded him in custody to April 24, 2022.

Prosecutor, Ms Lynette Gwasira, said on March 27 at his home- 858-185 Budiriro 3 – Kundai allegedly had a misunderstanding with his relative Kundiso Chirenje.

The court heard that Kundai allegedly stabbed Kundiso once on the neck, three times on the left shoulder and once on the armpits intending to kill him.

 

The court further heard that Kundai acted unlawfully despite realising that there was a real risk that his conduct could cause death.
