NEW: Bulawayo journalists equipped to tackle sexual harassment

JOURNALISTS from different media houses in Bulawayo are attending a sensitisation workshop focusing on the Sexual Harassment Policy within the media sector.

The primary aim of the workshop, organised by Gender and Media Connect (GMC), is to provide clarity on the policy’s role, its intended impact and foster its active use among journalists.

The workshop is centred on a comprehensive understanding of the Sexual Harassment Policy and its significance in creating safer work environments.

Participants are engaging in sessions designed to increase their awareness of the specific provisions outlined within the policy.

A key focus of the discussions is on encouraging the effective use and practical implementation of the policy within their respective workplaces.

Organisers expressed their belief that the workshop would equip journalists with the essential tools and knowledge to better comprehend and apply the Sexual Harassment Policy within their daily professional lives.

The initiative is geared towards fostering a more secure and respectful media environment for all.
