CHILDREN’S Performing Arts Workshop (Chipawo) will on Saturday descend on Bangure Village in Chipinge for the ever-growing Ndau Festival of the Arts (NdaFA).

NdaFA, which seeks to promote the Ndau language and culture,  is the brainchild of Phillip Kusasa.

Dandaro Vibes from Mutare and ZCC Mbungo Band from Masvingo are some of the 12 musical outfits that are set to perform on stage.

Some of the traditional dancing troupes that are set to leave a mark at the festival are Chiaraidze and Holland.

Learners drawn from local schools such as Gaza and Gideon Mhlanga, among others, will showcase traditional dances and poetry skills.

A workshop on Ndau language and culture, which has drawn participants from the country’s major universities, will also be conducted during the festival.

Kusasa said the festival is not only about the Ndau language and culture.

“The festival encourages cultural diversity. Other non-Ndau traditional dances such as mhande are going to be exhibited.

“This is a festival for those that truly love their cultures and languages,” Kusasa said.
