Music promoter and businessman Patson Chimbodza has warned troublemakers who attend events solely to instigate violence instead of providing entertainment for their audience.
Chimbodza, who is affectionately known as Chipaz, said all troublemakers will be dealt with harshly.
Violence marred the recent Cup Clash, which took place at the City Sports Centre in Harare on December 23. Seh Calaz and Silent Killer were at the crossroads during stage time.
Fans became divided as a result, and some even got into fights.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, Chipaz denounced violence during live shows. He promised to punish heavily any musician who causes violence at any of his shows.
“Violence is unacceptable at all of our shows, we don’t want it even on a single day.
“I’m going to punish any artist who causes violence during any of our shows,” he said.
The seasoned music promoter said violence will harm the music industry because many fans will boycott upcoming shows.
“Other than losing our fans, violence can tarnish Zimdancehall as a genre of violent and disorganised artistes,” said Chipaz.
