OUTGOING Chitungwiza mayor Kevin Mutimbanyoka has commended the Second Republic’s sound policies and initiatives that helped the local authority discharge its mandate during his short stint at the municipality.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the former ZANU PF councillor said the local authority had achieved a lot through an enabling environment created by Government.

“Government has played a very big role in bringing back the good image of Chitungwiza, which had been forgotten in terms of development.

“During our short stint at the helm of this municipality, service delivery and development has improved tremendously,” he said.

Devolution funds that were introduced by the Second Republic, he added, have seen the municipality achieve a lot in terms of service delivery to residents.

“We have been able to buy two ambulances, three refuse compactors and sewer pipes.

“The compactors have helped in refuse collection and ambulances have greatly improved health delivery in Chitungwiza.”
