New claims system

claims from 60 days to at most 30 days.

Health263 chief executive Mr Isaack Mhlanga said the new system, which has since received a nod from Government and the Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe, was being piloted with selected players in the medical industry.

He said the pilot implementation would run for the next three months, after which the system would be officially launched.

It is anticipated that the health industry would be fully integrated in 18 months from the date of inception.

“The health industry has been plagued by many ailments. All the problems are primarily associated with member identification and delays in forwarding claims to medical aid societies. This ultimately led to late payments to providers of service who will have treated beneficiaries of medical aid societies in good faith,” Mr Mhlanga said.
