NEW: Deployment of census enumerators to start next month

THE deployment of census enumerators will start on April 18 to 20 April, followed by the census enumeration from April 21 to April 30, a Cabinet Minister has said. 

Addressing a post-Cabinet briefing on Tuesday, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa said preparations for the 2022 Population and Housing Census were progressing well. 

“The training of 500 Level 1 Supervisors was completed on March 2, 2022, while the training of Level 2 Supervisors commenced on March 15, and will be completed on March 24, 2022. 

“Level 3 training for 41 000 census enumerators is scheduled to take place from April 7 to 17, 2022,” she said. 

Minister Mutsvangwa said the youth will also be incorporated among the enumerators. 

“Cabinet advises that deployment of census enumerators will start from April 18 to 20, 2022, followed by census enumeration from April 21 to 30, 2022. 

“The population is encouraged to be cooperative and be counted during the census exercise,” she said.
