Diversion routes that will guide traffic around closed road sections during the construction of the Mbudzi Interchange Flyover have been identified, Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona has said.
This comes as Government finalises a number of technical issues, including design reviews, for the proposed interchange.
Minister Mhona said this during the signing of a US$85 million loan facility framework with Fossil Holdings on Wednesday.
“The primary diversion route will be through Stoneridge Road from Boka Tobacco Sales floor, through Hopley residential area, crossing Chitungwiza Road into Forbes Avenue in Waterfalls, Malvern Road into Simon Mazorodze Road.
“Another leg of the diversion route, part of the Mbudzi Interchange permanent works, will run parallel to existing Simon Mazorodze Road on the Western side and cater for north-bound local traffic,” he said.
