NEW: Divine Lunga loaned out

WARRIORS and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Divine Lunga has been sent back on loan to Golden Arrows after struggling for game time at the South African champions.

Lunga joined Sundowns last year from Golden Arrows and made only nine appearances in the 2021/2022 campaign.

“As a result, and with the Brazilians believed to be working on solutions for their foreign quota in order to open space for some of the new arrivals, Lunga has been sent on loan at Abafana Bes’thende for the new season,” wrote Soccer Laduma, a South African publication.

The 27-year-old Zimbabwean international has already been unveiled at Arrows, who will be hosting neighbours and newcomers Richards Bay in their opening match at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday.

“Welcome back McGyver! Returning to the Green and Gold Army on a loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns and reclaiming his No.3 jersey is none other than Divine Lunga,” confirmed Arrows on the club’s official Twitter account.

Meanwhile, former national team midfielder Farai Madhanaga has officially joined local Premiership side Ngezi Platinum Stars.
