Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona says no one should pay extra money to acquire number plates as the country has enough in stock.
Writing on his official Twitter handle after a visit the Central Vehicle Registry (CVR) on Tuesday, Minister Mhona said Government would decisively deal with irregularities that had come to his attention concerning the issuing of number plates.
“Today I visited the CVR to understand why people are failing to get number plates on time. As the Second Republic, we are saying we have enough plates in stock and no one should pay extra money to get them.
“Some motorists here are saying they applied for the number plates last year and they are yet to get them, but others who applied yesterday already have them. This is unacceptable and we are going to decisively deal with this issue,” he said.
