NEW: Duo in court for 11 counts of theft

TWO Domboshava men have appeared in court on allegations of 11 counts of theft of goods worth $769 000. 

Kenias Chiwira and Paindana Moyana were charged with theft when they appeared before Harare magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Dzuda.  

The magistrate denied them bail and they were remanded in custody to March 21, 2022. 

Prosecutor, Ms Lynntte Gwarisa, said on February 20, 2021, the complainant parked his car, a Toyota Allion at home and retired to bed. 

The accused duo connived to steal the vehicle battery and car parts, which include four coil packs and a distributor. 

The two are facing 10 other counts of theft cases committed in Domboshava and Harare. They were arrested on March 8.  

Complainants positively identified some of their stolen property. 

The total value stolen was $769 000, and $213 000 was recovered.
