Police on Sunday arrested two men in connection with the theft of a 24-metre-long ZESA armoured cable, along a railway line in Mount Hampden.
In a statement on Monday, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest.
“On 10 July 2022, at around 1am, ZRP Marlborough reacted swiftly to a crime tip and arrested Abraham Saidi (28) and Addington Magana (26) for theft of 24 metres long ZESA armoured cable along a railway line in Mount Hampden,” he said.
“The suspects, and their two accomplices who ran away, were found digging a trench to extract the cable.”
