FAST rising traditional music ensemble, Dziva Rembira, is tonight performing at Mashwede Village situated along Highglen Road near the Glen View Furniture Complex in Harare.
The group led by Virimai “Vee Mhofu” Nhedega has mesmerised fans such that owners of the joint have since allocated them a Wednesday slot every week.
The Dziva ReMbira traditional ensemble are on a mission to revive hardcore mbira music in urban areas.
“Mashwede Village is now more like home to us. Our crowd there is improving with each passing day. We play every Wednesday starting at 5pm. All Covid-19 protocols are observed,” said Vee Mhofu.
“We would like to thank joint proprietors and our fans for the support.”
On Thursday, the group will play at Cresta Oasis Hotel situated at corner Sixth and Nelson Mandela.
“We are reaching out to our fans in different parts of the country. We appreciate the fact that we have a wide a diverse clientele. We are a youthful ensemble and our objective is to make sure that traditional music remains vibrant.”
Meanwhile, afro-fusion singer Gushungo and The Scatter Band will today also invade Club Eastpoint –formerly Jazz 105.
