Budget airliner, Fastjet’s Victoria Falls-Kruger Mpumalanga route, which was launched on Wednesday will fly three times a week, commencing on April 14.

The new route will give tourists a chance to experience Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world, and Kruger National Park, famed as the SADC region’s biggest animal sanctuary.

The Embraer 145 landed at Victoria Falls International Airport to the celebratory aviation rituals.

Addressing the media after the inaugural flight landed, Fastjet Chief Commercial Officer Mr Julian Edmunds said the three flights will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

“We had a plan to pursue the route a while ago, but due to disruptions caused by Covid-19 we had to hold off a bit, and I am happy we are finally executing the plan we long held,” he said.

The Tourism Business Council in Zimbabwe through their representative Mrs Barbara Murasiranwa welcomed the development saying the move is likely to enhance Victoria Falls’ standing as the country’s tourism hub.
