South African-based electric vehicles manufacturer Agilitee has unveiled its electric motorcycles in Harare as the company seeks to establish a footprint in Zimbabwe.

Agilitee plans to supply 300 electric motorcycles to the local  market by December this year.

In an interview, Agilitee’s country director for Zimbabwe Mr Tanaka Kutama said:

“We are excited to announce that we have started distributing the first set of electric motorcycles to our Zimbabweans customers.

“This is part of the vision to champion the green energy revolution in Zimbabwe. Most of our clients are in the agriculture sector.

“The whole world is moving to grow the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles. Our plans are to set up an assembly plant to manufacture electric vehicles in Zimbabwe in the future.”

Headquartered in South Africa, Agilitee rolled out thousands of electric motorcycles in Johannesburg earlier this year.

The company set up its distribution outlet in Harare in July this year, where it has been trading in several green energy products.
