NEW: Garbage collection in Harare intensified

THE Harare City Council, with support from Government, has intensified garbage collection across the city under an ongoing operation codenamed “Chenesa Harare” to curb the spread of cholera.

The operation is being rolled out by the Government and Harare City Council to restore cleanliness in the city.

Harare City Council Mayor Jacob Mafume said: “The city has intensified recycling of waste as an intervention to curb (the) cholera outbreak. We are happy that the Government has complemented the exercise and put in resources to help the city clear garbage.”
