NEW: Gems remain 12th on global ranking

Online Reporter

ZIMBABWE senior netball team retained their 12th position on the latest International Netball Federation rankings released yesterday in London.

This follows their recent outing at the Pent Series and African Championships, which were hosted in Windhoek, Namibia in December.

Despite suffering a defeat against lower ranked Namibia at the championships, the Gems went on to retain their INF position.

There has been no change in the top five netball countries, with Australia ranked number one, and the world champions, New Zealand, ranked number two.

Commonwealth Games champions, England are ranked third.

They are followed by Jamaica and South Africa on positions four and five, respectively, while Uganda moved into sixth place to topple Malawi as it dropped to seventh place.

Zambia also dropped two places to position 17, while Namibia moved up three places to position 22.
