GOVERNMENT is committed to promoting sustainable, inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction in the country, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development permanent secretary, Mr Moses Mhike has said.

He was addressing a stakeholder’s workshop on the dissemination the revised strategic plan in Marondera.

“Our Ministry is working towards taking concrete action in promoting women empowerment for sustainable inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction across the country,” he said.

“Government is committed to develop communities particularly women, girls and small to medium enterprises.”

Mr Mhike said the Ministry’s 2021-2023 strategic plan is in line with the national vision of attaining an upper middle income by 2030.

“Our strategic plan review process strengthens the thrust towards devolution and decentralisation of Government powers, functions and resources to provinces, districts and wards,” he said.

“Our thrust is poverty eradication through implementation of grassroots or community level programmes that can transform the lives of communities.”
