NEW: Govt recruits more teachers

GOVERNMENT will soon recruit more teachers this year to fill vacancies in 13 districts, as the Second Republic continues to improve the quality of education across the country. 

In a joint vacancy announcement dated August 23, 2022, the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education called for applications from newly qualified teachers for work. 

“The Public Service Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is inviting applications from newly qualified teachers,” reads part of the statement. 

“Those interested should complete application forms available at the Public Service Commission’s respective district offices.” 

The Commission reiterated that the vacancies were strictly for newly qualified teachers who are ready to serve in the stated districts. 

The districts include: Mbire, Muzarabani, Rushinga in Mashonaland Central, Mudzi, Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe in Mashonaland East, and Kariba in Mashonaland West. 

In Masvingo, the districts are Mwenezi and Chiredzi, while in Matebeleland North, Binga and Hwange districts will be taking new teachers. 

Other places are Gokwe in Midlands and Chipinge in Manicaland.
