NEW: Grade Seven results: Girls outperform boys

THE Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) 2022 Grade Seven results released yesterday show that girls performed better than boys by a seven percent margin.

 

The results were opened for viewing yesterday on the Zimsec online portal and Form One selection will be done next week, with classes starting on Monday, February 14.

 

School heads can collect results from Zimsec regional offices on Monday, while Form One enrolment will be done on the e-map platform.

 

According to Zimsec, girls performed better than boys with a 44,55 percent pass rate compared to boys’ 37,48 percent.

 

Zimsec board chairperson Professor Eddie Mwenje said high pass rates were recorded in indigenous languages compared to all other subjects.

 

He said there was also an increase in the number of candidates who took the examinations.
