UNDEFEATED ZIFA Eastern Region Division One pacesetters GreenFuel picked another win on the road when they defeated Renco Mine 1-0 to keep their quest for Premiership promotion on course.

The victory saw the ethanol producers maintain their six-point lead at the log summit as they vie to bring top-flight football to Chisumbanje.

They have amassed 44 points from 18 matches after managing 13 wins and five draws.

Coach, Lloyd “Samita” Mutasa is hoping to guide another team from Manicaland into the elite league following a similar feat with the now defunct Highway in 2008.

Second-placed, Mutare City Rovers stayed in hot pursuit of the leaders after overcoming FC Wangu Mazodze by an identical scoreline at Sakubva Stadium last week on Friday.

Manica Diamonds Juniors were on the receiving end again after going down 1-0 away to Chiredzi Stars.

Former Premiership side, Buffaloes were inactive as they were scheduled to play Buhera-based Nzuma Bar who have since folded up.

Meanwhile, GreenFuel and Mutare City Rovers square off in a top-of-the-table clash in Chisumbanje this weekend.
