YADAH Stars coach Genesis Mangombe reacted to last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Dynamos by relegating first-choice keeper Tanyaradzwa Huni to the bench, and the move paid off as The Miracle Boys played out a goalless draw against Harare City in a Chibuku Super Cup match at the National Sports Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Mangombe thrust unheralded Panashe Nyabunga into the starting line-up and the young goalie saved a penalty in a man-of-the-match display.
The stalemate leaves Yadah Stars on two points, one behind Harare City, who are improving by each passing game.
Harare City coach Lloyd Chitembwe was impressed by his team’s performance and is looking to the future with optimism.
“I am a pragmatic coach and I am looking beyond this Chibuku Super Cup tournament,” said Chitembwe.
Mangombe was happy to pick up a point a few days after his team were humbled by Dynamos.
“It was good to recover from that defeat and I am happy.”
