THE City of Harare is seized with the beautification of the capital with the installation of traffic lights at intersections and street lighting of major roads in progress ahead of the 44th Sadc Summit set for Saturday.

The local authority has been directed to speed up work.

This was revealed by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere, in a post Cabinet media briefing on Wednesday.

“Flag hoisting was achieved on Nemakonde Way and Seke Road,” he said.

“Information and publicity infrastructure has been finalised, including the media centre.”

Meanwhile, the construction of a 2,8 megalitre water reservoir is now complete, thereby guaranteeing sufficient water supplies.
